SETDA is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership during the organization's Annual Convocation. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization and solicits feedback and recommendations from the SETDA membership, SETDA's founding partners, and the organization's standing committees. SETDA has three standing committees: Data Collections, Innovations & Partnership, and Professional Growth.
