AZ – IDEAL - Web portal is in place, single sign-on is functioning, and handshake with 3rd party software is in place. Registrations have increased monthly. IDEAL has greatly increased use of online professional development courses statewide and greatly increased use of digital resources statewide.
Florida – Florida Online Reading Professional Development Project (FOR-PD)
Over 96 percent of participants indicated that the program impacted their instruction. 94 percent of participants rated the practical application of the course content as excellent or good. 93 percent of participants rated the program as excellent or good in helping them understand student needs and providing adaptations for struggling readers.
GeorgiaStandards.org (GSO) – Since 2006, more than 5000 educators have signed up for portal access and GSO privileges. In addition over 500 instructional plans have been reviewed and published on GSO. All academic performance standards in K-12 core content areas that are currently implemented in the classroom have resources aligned to these standards. Over 400 groups have been formed to allow for the collaborative design and development of performance-based instructional plans. Private groups have formed within grade levels, within schools as well as across school systems.
Maryland - Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) - Professional Development Online (PDO) (http://pdo.mcpsmd.org).
There are 700+ courses offered through PDO. The school system has successfully implemented the first phase of the program providing accounts for all full time employees. Payment for required training is processed through PDO, saving administrative time used to hand enter and process all payment. Development of the Mentor Log feature which provides a tool for mentors to log interactions with their mentees and facilitates payment of the mentors. PDO provides a transcript of all completed training to staff and other reports as needed.
Massachusetts PTPD and POPD – Post-class surveys showed that the instructors for all of the courses were considered knowledgeable and responsive to the students. A vast majority of participants would strongly recommend the class they took to a colleague. The vast majority either has plans or has already implemented new ideas in their classrooms.
Ohio’s eLearning program – in the first year of online course offerings, more than 1,000 Ohio educators participated in 38 different web-based courses through the eLearning program. 84% of respondents indicated that they were taking away new ideas and strategies to use in the classrooms
