SETDA was very fortunate to be supported by the following non-profit organizations at its very outset. These organizations provided organizational leadership, guidance and monetary support throughout SETDA’s first year.
These organizations continue to collaborate and work with SETDA on many activities and events relating to advocacy, professional development, conference planning, as well as tool and content development. SETDA would like to thank these organizations for steadfast support of SETDA as well as the promotion of effective technology uses in the classroom to improve teaching and learning.
Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO): The capacity of educational professionals, both teachers and leaders of teachers, is at the heart of a coherent system designed to accomplish world class achievement. High standards are important. Assessing the learning of students is important. The curriculum, technology, and other aspects of the system are important, but none is more essential than enhancing the capability of teachers and administrators. Building the capacity for "Strengthening Professional Practice" is the 1998 priority of the Council of Chief State School Officers.
Consortium of School Networking (CoSN): The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), a national non-profit organization, is the premier voice in education technology leadership. Our mission is to advance the K-12 education community’s capacity to effectively use technology to improve learning through advocacy, policy and leadership development. Our members represent school districts, state and local education agencies, nonprofits, companies and individuals who share our vision. Florida Education Technology Corporation (FETC): FETC 2003 is proud to offer one of the best programs to date. Included in your conference registration fee is the opportunity to choose from approximately 200 sessions providing awareness and training in educational technology. The concurrent sessions focus on educators sharing working knowledge of successful classroom practices with other educators. Presenters are selected from applications received from the annual Call for Presentations. Additionally, FETC will offer a variety of featured speaker sessions providing leadership in educational technology.
International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE): ISTE is a nonprofit professional organization with a worldwide membership of leaders and potential leaders in educational technology. We are dedicated to promoting appropriate uses of information technology to support and improve learning, teaching, and administration in K–12 education and teacher education. ISTE’s role is leadership—we provide our members with information, networking opportunities, and guidance as they face the challenge of incorporating computers, the Internet, and other new technologies into their schools.
Regional Technology in Education Consortia (R*TEC): The Regional Technology in Education Consortia (R*TEC) program is established to help states, local educational agencies, teachers, school library and media personnel, administrators, and other education entities successfully integrate technologies into kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) classrooms, library media centers, and other educational settings, including adult literacy centers.
